Jay & Joy 13: Monster Elephant Submarine |
|
|

Joy was taking art class in an after school program. In today's art class, the teacher taught students to draw an elephant and gave a homework of drawing a most imaginary elephant.
When Joy came back home, Jay could not be more happier. He asked his friend what she did at school. Joy showed him her work.
Jay asked, "what is this creature that you drew?"
Joy told him it's an elephant.
Jay could not help noticing the long, big nose of the elephant. "what is that long thing?"
Joy answered, "That's the nose of the elephant. It is called a trunk."
Jay curiously asked, "Why do elephants have trunks?"
"That is a good question! Elephants would look silly with glove compartments.
" Joy had her opinion, "Plus, you know elephants use their trunks to grab bananas. They are so big and heavy. I can imagine how hard it is for them to stand on two rear legs and try to grab bananas with two front legs. Long trunks relieve that hard work."
Jay was convinced.
For the home work, Joy decided to combine the biggest animal in the sea
with the biggest animal in the land.
Joy asked Jay, "What do you get if you cross an elephant with a whale?"
In Jay's mind, that would be: "A submarine with a built-in snorkel".
Joy finished her drawing and created this monster submarine elephant.
